Dual Occupancy Townhouse development
This brief to Viv at WH Architects was for the owners development of a site in Elwood bounding a park reserve to provide a home for themselves and another mirrored but individual house to sell. Clean lines and elegant spaces appropriate to the inner urban enclave of leafy Elwood led the simple form of the building.
While many configurations were explored around the large Kurrajong tree to the South corner to be retained, the conventional ground level living and first floor bedrooms were maintained. Primary views of both the street and trees from the master suites were optimised and controlled with operable louvres in contrasting colours and directions.
